Our latest installment in the Customer Spotlight feature supports a mission that we can all get behind. Soroptimist International aims to “improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.”
To accomplish their WordPress website goals, they utilize The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro, alongside one of our sister brands, Iconic, to add a fully-stocked calendar with all of the bells and whistles to their bustling website that supports their organization’s goals.
Let’s take a look at how they accomplish this below.
The homepage
Right on the homepage, you’ll find that Soroptimist International adds a calendar widget to the right-hand sidebar of the site. We love how they take advantage of all of the calendaring options included with Events Calendar Pro. There are so many widgets and blocks that you can add to any area of your website to add calendar functionality.
The main calendar page
Once you get to the main calendar page, you’ll see that instead of using the full-width calendar, Soroptimist International has chosen to use the mini calendar, which gives them more space to also use the sidebar areas to display other content.
We love that they use this option! It allows them to personalize the plugin to suit their individual needs. The mini calendar still includes a dropdown menu that allows you to change the calendar view from month view, to list, day, or week view.
Even with a mini calendar, they’ve still included the option to subscribe to calendar. This lets users add all events to their personal calendars, with updates should an event change, get added, or even be canceled.
The single event page
Lastly, the single event pages are super simple yet informative. They include a featured image, a bit of text, and any other information you may need to attend the event.
